Burger with Chickpea Patty

Ingredients

500 g whole wheat flour
0.5 Pack(s) dry yeast
1 ts sugar
11 g salt
325 ml tap water
2 ts sesame
1 pc onion, diced
1 Clove(s) garlic
60 g oat flakes
2 pc spring onion
1 pc carrot
0.5 ts dried cumin
0.25 ts chili powder
1 Pinch(es) pepper
2 tb chopped parsley
0.25 ts paprika powder
1 ts lemon juice
0.5 ts coriander
4 Leave(s) lettuce
4 pc pickles
1 pc red onion
1 pc tomato

Preparation

1. Mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add lukewarm water and knead into a dough. Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 20 minutes. Then knead it again and form it into 4 equal-sized balls. Cover and let them rest for at least 30-45 minutes.
2. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F) with both top and bottom heat.
3. Slightly moisten the dough balls and sprinkle sesame seeds on the surface. Bake them in the oven for 12-15 minutes until they are golden brown. Then let them cool.
4. Drain the chickpeas and finely dice the onion. Mix them with garlic and oat flakes to create a uniform mixture for the chickpea patties.
5. Clean the spring onions and dice them finely. Wash, peel, and thinly slice the carrot. Add cumin, chili powder, pepper, parsley, paprika powder, lemon juice, and coriander, and mix them together.
6. Shape 4 patties with damp hands and fry them in a pan on both sides. In the final minutes, add the burger slices and let them melt with the lid closed.
7. For the toppings, wash the lettuce and thinly slice the pickles lengthwise. Slice the red onion and tomato into rings or slices.
8. Slice the baked buns and spread the Spread Joy Herb on the bottom half of the buns. Then, in the following order: lettuce, tomato slices, patties with burger slices, ketchup or BBQ sauce, pickles, onions, and the top half of the buns.
