Wines from the best winemakers around Claude Vialade represents the third generation of this family-run winery on the hills of Montmija in Ribaute. In the 1970s, her father Jean was one of the first to convert their winery to organic farming – long before today’s organic label existed. Jean Vialade became president of Europe's first cooperative of fully organic winegrowers. You can still taste this ecological heritage today in the grapes and wines of the region. A wine for regional change In keeping with this tradition, Claude Vialade is driving forward ecological transformation in the region with a view to making the whole of l'Occitanie the leading region for organic wine in Europe. In doing so, not only does she create excellent (organic) wines herself, but she also supports other wineries in their switch to organic farming. This sees knowledge accumulated over generations flow not only into the wines, but into the soils of the region, too. With a total of 500 hectares of wine-growing land in the process of being converted into organic and biodynamic areas, the company now bottles more than three million bottles. An air-conditioned ageing cellar and a corked recycling line continue to pave the way towards sustainable winegrowing.
