1. Remove the avocado pit, being careful not to injure yourself. Place the avocado in a bowl. It's a good idea to use a slightly larger bowl as you'll need to mash the avocado in the next step. Squeeze the juice of half a lime into the bowl with the avocado. Use a fork to mash the avocado into a smooth consistency. If you're making a larger quantity of guacamole, a potato masher works well too.
2. Now, dice the onions and tomatoes, and finely chop the cilantro. Then, use a garlic press to crush the garlic. For those who like it spicier, you can also add some jalapeño.
3. Combine the diced onions, tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and crushed garlic with the avocado mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. You can also add some chili powder for extra spice.
